Brene Brown
Would you like to feel better about yourself and understand your emotions better?
In our sessions, I will sit alongside you and truly listen as you try to make sense of it all. Together, we’ll work to create a safe and trusting relationship where you are met with empathy and compassion, never judgement.
With time, this space can give you the freedom to be completely yourself, maybe for the very first time.
I will gently and sensitively ask questions to help you look at things in new ways, always at a pace that feels right for you. This can help you explore who you are, understand your emotions more clearly, and begin to accept yourself with kindness. I believe therapy is not about change but about acceptance of ourselves.
Therapy can offer a safe place to bring the parts of yourself you might usually hide, the parts you don't want anyone else to see. Although this can feel difficult, it often opens a path to healing and ultimately feeling better about yourself.
As a person-centred therapist, I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow and flourish when they feel truly heard, understood, and supported. Relational therapy is all about creating the best conditions for that to happen.
Therapy isn’t about quick fixes, tools or techniques, it’s about building a relationship of trust where you can gently explore yourself at depth. Over time, this process can help you develop self-awareness, make sense of your emotions, and feel more at peace with yourself.
I am an experienced South London based BACP registered therapist and Clinical Supervisor (in training).
I offer sensitive, compassionate, affirming therapy and specialise in working with ADHD, rejection sensitivity dysphoria (RSD), low self-esteem, and the lasting impact of emotionally absent mothers.
I have proven experience supporting a diverse range of clients in private practice, education and the community. I work online so this allows me to work with clients across the UK which means full accessibility as location is not a problem.
I also have experience of working with the following:
QUALIFICATIONS
CPD
I continue to add to my own professional development with training in shame, avoidant attachment, co-dependency, ADHD in adults, trauma and the nervous system.
REJECTION SENSITIVITY DYSPHORIA (RSD)
RSD is often one of the most challenging parts of ADHD. I can help you understand and process RSD so it doesn't hurt so much and is easier to handle.
DAUGHTERS OF EMOTIONALLY ABSENT/NARCISSISTIC MOTHERS
I have an interest working with daughters who grew up with an emotionally absent mother and the long term impact of childhood emotional neglect on self-esteem/shame and the nervous system/people pleasing tendencies.
ADHD AFFIRMING THERAPY
Maybe you’re wondering if you might be ADHD, or you already know you are, and you’re looking for therapy that feels safe, affirming, and understanding.
ADHD Affirming therapy aims to see ADHD as a difference rather than a disorder.
"My drive to become a therapist has always been to give my clients the amazing and life changing experience I had in my own therapy."
I started my own therapy as I was fed up feeling depressed and not good enough, I wanted something to change. Sitting with a therapist who I learned to trust and who really listened with empathy and compassion was so powerful for me. I was able to un-become some of the things I thought about myself and realise I was actually OK. Therapy is not a quick fix and it takes time and commitment to discover who you really are underneath all the layers.
I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step to investing in yourself but believe me its well worth it!
As a late diagnosed ADHD therapist, I have been on my own journey through ADHD realisation, diagnosis, grief and acceptance.
I come from an education background before moving on to teaching photography in schools and now therapeutic counselling. I have experience working with all kinds of people. I have always been fascinated with people's behaviour, emotions and relationships and strive to learn more about myself through supervision and training plus my own ongoing personal development.
